OBEDIENCE
Obedience Classes
Chloe was attending a previous obedience class but we were told in a
roundabout way not to go back as her barking at the strange dogs was
unacceptable. The reason why she barks is due to a bit
of nervousness as she was nipped by a Dalmatian bitch at about 5
months of age, and then at around 6 months, she was bitten on the
nose by another GSD. This didn't bother her at first, but as
she's maturing, she has a bit of an anxious bark when she meets
other dogs for a short while, then once introduced she is fine.
I am working on this issue with her as much as I can.
She needs to learn that not all dogs she meets will attack her, the
poor thing.
We are now attending
Glenalco's Pet
Training in Coaltown of Balgonie, our first time was so relaxing
and enjoyable, as well as informative. We learnt quite a few
things in the first session. We have been attending since the
end of August now now and Chloe has come on leaps and bounds - she is a clever
girl. Colette, the trainer, has been absolutely fabulous and
so understanding of each dogs needs.
I have also arranged for a trainer to visit us on a weekly basis to
tackle the issue of chasing cars, recall (lack of when others
around), and general manners |
